Types of Gauze Bandages
It can be very different, each type of gauze bandage has a different use. Some band-aids are sterile, which means they have been specially cleaned to kill germs. This helps in disease prevention and wound safety. Alternatively, there are non-sterile gauze bandages that tend to be less expensive and can be used in the treatment of most small wounds, such as scrapes and small cuts.
Some common types of gauze bandages include the following:
roll gauze bandages are created using long strips of gauze and are ideal when much of the body is in need of support, whether it a limb, or two. You can also easily cut them to the size you want.
Sponge gauze bandages are much more absorbent than the conventional type of gauze, thus making them larger in size. Packing a bleeding or drainage- full wound goes best with them as they have more capacity for absorption of the liquids and hence create a more hygiene area around.
